Behind the Beer: Meet Derrick & Jim McNeillie of The Casual Pint Lenoir City
Locally owned. Locally loved. Proudly East Tennessee.
At The Casual Pint Lenoir City, beer is just the beginning — it’s about creating a place where neighbors become friends, Vol fans gather on gamedays, and every pour comes with a side of East Tennessee hospitality.
And at the heart of it all? Father-and-son team Derrick and Jim McNeillie, proud local owners bringing their shared vision to life right here in Lenoir City.
Derrick grew up just down the road in Maryville, TN, with a love for sports and a dream of finding his own path. After graduating from East Tennessee State University with a degree in Sport Management, he chased opportunities from Memphis to Maryville, working in everything from ticket sales to finance. But something was missing.
Jim, meanwhile, had been a steady supporter and encourager of Derrick’s entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, the two spent plenty of time together at The Casual Pint Maryville, where the idea to open a location of their own was born. One night over a pint, Derrick and Jim threw out the idea of bringing The Casual Pint experience to Lenoir City — and the rest is history.
After delays, hurdles, and plenty of persistence, their vision is finally becoming reality this fall.
